“Geopolitical Future” (The new Think Tank of Georges Fredman, former boss of Staratfor) explains how the new US sanctions againt North-Korea (with or without UNO), to ban all sales of oil products to North Korea, is a way to test and blackmail China :
“North Korea: A draft U.N. Security Council resolution written by the United States will reportedly ban all sales of oil products to North Korea. U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said that if the council fails to pass new sanctions on North Korea, he has an executive order ready for Trump to sign that would levy sanctions on any country that trades with the North.
Meanwhile, the U.S. is downplaying speculation that it will support the deployment of tactical nukes on the Korean Peninsula – a major concern for Beijing, which has said it would support additional sanctions. The strength of the new sanctions will indicate whether China is backing up its words with action. Aside from oil, what might the new U.S. sanctions entail?”
