FIFTH LEGION INTRODUCES ELITE LIGHT INFANTRY BRIGADE
The Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Legion has officially announced the formation of a new elite brigade under its command.
The new brigade is formed as a light infantry unit, that will be trained and armed by Russian and Syrian instructors, and has been promised to be employed in major battles across Syria in the very near future.
The Fifth Legion was formed in 2016 as a volunteer counterterrorist unit trained by a joint Syrian and Russian officer staff, and has successfully battled rebel forces in fronts such as Homs.
